Service with a purr! 🐱 NMMI HOSA members recently spent an evening volunteering at Meow Refuge, a local cat rescue, working alongside refuge staff on landscaping, grounds cleanup, branch trimming and pathway improvements.

It was a hands-on way for our future healthcare leaders to put HOSA's commitment to leadership, teamwork and community involvement into action, all while supporting an organization dedicated to caring for animals in need. Thank you, Meow Refuge, for having us!

Congratulations, BG Voris McBurnette! πŸŽ–οΈ NMMI's President and Superintendent has been inducted into the U.S. Army ROTC Hall of Fame, one of the highest honors bestowed on former ROTC cadets whose military and civilian careers reflect exceptional leadership, service and commitment to the Nation. He was recognized this week at the Association of the United States Army (AUSA).

BG McBurnette earned his Army commission through ROTC at Saint Augustine's University in 1991, beginning a career of more than 35 years of service that included command of the 100th Training Division at Fort Knox and leadership of the Joint Forces Staff College at the National Defense University. Today, as NMMI's 20th President and Superintendent, he continues the work that began with his commissioning: developing the next generation of honorable leaders.

Please join us in congratulating him! β€οΈπŸ–€

From the classroom to the gallery wall. Cadets have been digging into group work and discussion in science class this fall, and down the hall, our College Drawing Class (Fall 2026) put their talent on display in the Self-Portraits Art Exhibition in the Lea Hall Art Studio. Congratulations to every artist who shared a piece of themselves!
