I’m so excited to share that I have officially graduated from Emmanuel University!
I earned my undergraduate degree from Piedmont University, and when it came time to continue my education, I chose Emmanuel after hearing such wonderful things from friends who had attended. I can truly say it was the right decision—I’ve had an amazing experience and am so grateful for everything I’ve learned along the way.
I am currently a third-grade collaborative teacher with Clarke County School District, and I’m wrapping up my third year there. I absolutely love what I do and couldn’t be happier supporting my students each day.
Beyond my career, I am incredibly blessed in my personal life. I have a wonderful, supportive boyfriend, Wayne, and I am a proud mom to five amazing children living all across the U.S. I’m also a “Meema” to five sweet grandchildren, with a sixth on the way this June—my heart is so full!
This journey hasn’t always been easy, but it has been so worth it. I’m thankful for everyone who has supported me along the way and excited for what’s next!

M.Ed. - Elementary Education (Reading Endorsement)

I am currently a fourth grade reading and language arts teacher at Wacona Elementary School in Waycross, Georgia. I decided to pursue my master’s degree with a reading endorsement at Emmanuel because I had friends that have completed it prior who enjoyed it. I love how I could connect my faith to my educational learning as a teacher. Additionally, I went for a reading endorsement because I wanted to learn how best to assist my students in becoming better readers. I hope to continue to improve and learn even after completing my master’s degree, so that my students will have all that they need to be successful and that starts with an educated and informed teacher. Emmanuel and this program has helped me develop into a better teacher for my students and was the best decision for me and my family! As a wife and mom of a three year old, my family is my heart and my biggest inspiration. I couldn’t have made it through this program without the help and support of my family. I look forward to continuing to grow, lead, and make a positive impact in every role I have or will be blessed with in the future.

I currently teach 4th grade reading at Wacona Elementary School. This is my second-year teaching, and I am thankful to be teaching in the same county that I went to school in! Me and my husband, Jacob, just got married in November and we have been together for six years! We have a dog named Cowboy together, and several chickens. In my free time, I love going antique or thrift store shopping with my sister and mom. The memories we make together are so special to me! I chose Emmanuel University because it was referred to me by several people who have gone through the program and highly recommended it! I also really liked the idea of attending a program that would allow me to grow both in my career and in my faith. Since joining Emmanuel University, I feel as though I have grown tremendously! Each course has challenged me in the best way possible and allowed me to build on my relationship with God and on my practices as a teacher. Moving forward, I plan to use what I have learned from this program and apply it to my own classroom to continue growing as a teacher. I want to create an environment in my classroom where students know that they are loved, supported, and that they can always learn and grow in new ways!

M.Ed.-Elementary Education (Reading Endorsement)

I currently teach fourth-grade reading in Douglas, Georgia. I am earning my master's in education with a Reading Endorsement because literacy is truly where so much confidence and academic growth begin for students! I chose Emmanuel University because I loved the idea of being able to connect my love for Jesus with my love for teaching. It has by far been the best decision! Once I complete this program, I plan to begin my Specialist degree right away. I am excited to continue learning to be the best I can be for my students!

M.Ed.-Elementary Education (Reading Endorsement)

I currently serve as a Special Education teacher at Wacona Elementary School. This school is especially meaningful to me because it is where I grew up attending, which makes my role there even more rewarding. I have been married to my husband, Jake, for seven years, and we have one son together named Koe. Although we only have one child, I am blessed to have many other “littles” in my life who proudly call me Lulu. Family means everything to me, and I come from a big, lively family that keeps life fun and full of love. I chose Emmanuel University because several friends and colleagues highly recommended the program and shared how it positively impacted both their faith and professional careers. So far, my experience has been incredibly rewarding. I have enjoyed learning new ways to grow in my faith while also expanding my knowledge as an educator. My future goal is simply to be the best educator I can be. I hope to make a lasting impression on each of my students by helping them discover their strengths, learn how to cope with their challenges, and feel proud of who they are.

Today (4/1/26) Pray this Holy Week prayer "The events of this last week of Jesus’ earthly life were turbulent, and ended in violence. I confess it’s hard to imagine that He could have had any rest or peace during that time. But Your Word says He made peace with His destiny, because He leaned on You. Help me to do the same - to release my worries and take hold of the peace You offer instead." - Amen
