Caught in the Spotlight!

Skyview Senior Officer P. MacMillan was indispensable during our recent semi-annual lockdown. She manned the command center and ensured everything was documented correctly, schedules were adhered to, and kept us all together! We thank her for her dedication to helping ensure an organized, safe, and efficient shakedown.

Hodge Correctional Officer II M. Staten may be relatively new, but he consistently goes above and beyond his assigned duties. Whether working dorm housing or stationed on the walkway, he ensures policies and procedures are followed at all times. He holds inmates accountable while encouraging positive behavior, all while maintaining his own positive, professional attitude. His hard work and dedication are truly appreciated!

Skyview Correctional Officer III Chase George has been caught in the spotlight for his outstanding work and dedication. Officer George shows up every night ready to give his best. He continues to grow in his role, learning not only the responsibilities of his position but also those of his supervisors. His ambition to advance within the agency is matched by his willingness to go above and beyond for his fellow officers. Caught in the Spotlight!

Skyview Officer C. Crockett-Canady plays a crucial role in the everyday operations for 2-card. As a utility officer, she is versatile in assisting her supervisors and responding to incidents. Officer Crockett-Canady also provides guidance to new staff members assigned to the Skyview Unit and is an active member of the complex CRISP team. Thank you "Mama Crockett!"

Hodge Officer L. Byers has only been with the agency a short time but has demonstrated a willingness to learn and do the job the right way. She carries herself in a professional manner while communicating with staff and inmates. She has shown integrity, perseverance, and courage at the unit entrance search while being the front-line defense in our war against contraband.

Officer C. L Aure CO II, Hodge Unit

Although Officer Aure usually works utility, when the shift was short staffed, Officer Aure was assigned to be a rover on K-wing and J-wing. During unannounced rounds on the building, Officer Aure was observed sweeping the runs and mopping the D space, keeping the area clean. Officer Aure showed integrity and perseverance that night to make sure the wings that he was assigned were immaculate.

The Skyview/Hodge Complex celebrated our Correctional Officers, Administrative staff, UTMB staff, and WSD staff last week with a two day Cinco de Mayo Fiesta!

A big celebration once a year is never enough to show our appreciation for the staff that keep the complex running, but we definitely take this time to give our thanks!

A HUGE thank you to the community members that helped make this possible:
