HBTD!!!

Forestry Club traveled to Monticello, Arkansas to compete in the annual Southern Forestry Conclave. We won 6th place overall out of a total of 14 schools.

Our team placed in various events over the course of the weekend:

1st Place in dendrology: Aaron Buffington
1st Place in knife throw: Seth Williams
2nd Place in chain throw: Aaron Buffington and Chris Denicola
3rd Place in archery: Dakota Guillory
3rd Place in log birling: Maggie Dickerson
3rd Place in pole classification: Maggie Dickerson

Special thanks to University of Arkansas Monticello for putting on such a great conclave this year!

Forestry Club took on the LASAF Gulf State meeting this week. Our officer, Chris Denicola, won SAF student of the year. Aurora McCain and Kate Montgomery competed in the undergraduate research poster competition, winning first and second respectively. Thank you to all the participants and event organizers that made this meeting great!

Last week, LaTech completed at the 2025 conclave in Huntsville, Alabama!!!! Tech placed 4th out of 13. We placed 3rd overall in the physical events with:
3rd place knife throw: Seth Williams
2nd place chain throw: Craig Hunnicutt and Joesph Hayes
2nd place Jack and Jill cross cut: Reagan Hendricks and Joesph Hayes
3rd place archery: Jacob Otwell
3rd place men’s log chop: Parker Bruce
And in technicals:
