What started as a student-led idea is now making a real difference for families across Ruston. 💙

We’re incredibly proud of our Louisiana Tech NSSLHA students and their advisor, Abigail Fertal, for seeing this project through and bringing inclusive communication boards to local parks.

These boards give non-speaking children and individuals with communication challenges a way to express themselves, connect with others, and fully join in the fun at the playground.

Last week, the Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana picked up a generous beef donation made possible through the continued partnership of Louisiana Land Bank, Century Next Bank and the School of Agricultural Sciences and Forestry at Louisiana Tech. At the 53rd Annual Louisiana Tech Farm Production Sale, both organizations purchased market steers for the third consecutive year, with the processed beef donated to help feed families across our region.

Together, these efforts have provided more than 11,000 servings of beef over the past three years. 🤝📦💙

🌳✨ Calling all young nature explorers! ✨🌳

On Tuesday, June 9, 2026, from 8:30–11:30 AM, Louisiana Tech Forestry will host its annual “Trees & Me” workshop at Lomax Hall on South Campus! This FREE workshop is designed for rising kindergartners through rising 3rd graders and gives children a fun, hands-on opportunity to learn about trees, forests, and the important role they play in our lives alongside Louisiana Tech Forestry faculty and students.

Kids will enjoy engaging activities from Project Learning Tree, including:

🌳 My Life as a Tree
🍃 Tree lifecycle
🌲 Every Tree for Itself
