It's officially spring quarter, and we can't wait to kick off with the Undergraduate Research and Service-Learning Symposium THIS FRIDAY! The event will run from 7:45 AM to 4:30 PM with a break from 12:00 to 1:00.

Stop by at any point throughout the day to support your peers and students! Light refreshments will be provided.

🌟 Goldwater Nominee Spotlight: Bryleigh Wickham
Major: Biomedical Engineering | Class of 2026
Hometown: West Monroe, LA
Advisor: Dr. Teresa Murray

Bryleigh's research portfolio is impressive and diverse. She's developed glassy carbon microelectrode arrays for real-time neurotransmitter detection in mouse brains and advanced photolithography techniques for tissue engineering applications.

Her work earned her a Louisiana Space Grant Consortium Assistantship to design and build a reproducible small-scale centrifuge simulating hypergravity conditions, enabling university laboratories to conduct space research. Bryleigh's career goal is to conduct research in tissue engineering and work in a tissue engineering-focused biotech company.

🌟 Goldwater Nominee Spotlight: Joshua Robinson

Major: Mathematics | Class of 2027
Hometown: Haughton, LA
Advisor: Dr. Jonathan Walters

Joshua is investigating the topological properties of Cayley graph embeddings alongside Dr. Ann Clifton and Dr. Blake Farman. As a sophomore conducting advanced mathematical research, he's already on track to achieve his goal of contributing extensively to pure mathematics in algebraic and graph-theoretic research. Beyond research, Joshua is passionate about effective university instruction and hopes to inspire the next generation of mathematicians.
