Meet Jolee Dillard, our Chapter President! is from Vidalia, Louisiana and is a Political Science Major with a concentration in Pre-Law! Let’s hear from her about her time in Alpha Chi Omega and as Chapter President! 👏

“Alpha Chi has given me so much more than I ever expected from college; it has given me lifelong friendships, unforgettable memories, endless support, and a place that truly feels like home. The women in this chapter have continuously inspired me, encouraged me, and helped shape me into the person I am today. The love, sisterhood, and opportunities for growth within Alpha Chi are things I will forever be grateful for, and I truly cannot imagine my college experience without this chapter.

Serving as Chapter President is such an incredible honor and one of the greatest blessings of my college experience. “Words can’t fully describe how much this chapter means to me. I’m so thankful for the friendships and constant support I’ve found here. Going through recruitment, I was hoping to be part of something bigger than myself, and I’ve truly found that in alpha chi. I have gained so many opportunities to grow, both personally and as a leader, in ways I didn’t expect.

Serving as Vice President of Risk Management has been especially meaningful. Being able to help keep our members safe while still creating a fun and positive environment has been so rewarding. It’s been a really special way to give back to a chapter that has given me so much. “Alpha Chi Omega has allowed me to blossom into the person I was always meant to be. I never thought I would be in a sorority let alone fill an exec position. As a COB I was late to joining Greek life but now I could not imagine my life without it. I am so grateful to the girls who saw my potential and gave me the opportunity to join Alpha Chi. I’ve been able to make so many amazing friends and connections, which have changed me for the better. I feel honored to serve the chapter through my position as VP of Ritual and Fraternity Appreciation! Through my position I am able to cultivate the rich history and ideals our organization was founded on. As well as maintain the bonds of sisterhood with alumnae and current members. I also hold all sacred ceremonies and rituals that Alpha Chi Omega has had for generations. I truly feel blessed to be apart of a sisterhood so unique. “I get emotional every time I think about Alpha Chi Omega. I came into college shy and unsure of myself, thinking I’d blend into the background and just “get through it.” The girls of Alpha Chi Omega grabbed my hands and showed me how valued I really was. I credit them with pulling me out of my shell and allowing me to grow in a space that I know was perfect for me. This is home, and if I can help this years’ PNMs find theirs, that’s all I could ask for. Knowing that I will play a small role in the futures of these young women makes my heart so full.

Being able to serve as Vice President of Recruitment is an honor and a joy that I do not take lightly. I want every girl that steps into the doors of Alpha Chi to feel the warmth and love of its members. Ever since going through recruitment as a PNM, I was in love with the process and everything that comes along with it. Being able to work underneath last year’s VP Recruitment only solidified that I knew I had a deeper purpose within the process. Meet Baylee Broomfield, our VP New Member Education! Baylee is a Kinesiology major and is from Jonesboro, LA! Let’s hear from her about her time in Alpha Chi Omega, and being on the Executive Board!👏

“When I first joined Alpha Chi, I was so shy—it’s honestly crazy to think about now. But as soon as I started meeting girls in house, that was over with. I found my people, and they helped me find myself. With the constant encouragement from the women around me, I’ve gotten involved across campus and even ran for an executive position within AXO—something I never would have imagined for myself before. I didn’t expect how deeply I would end up caring about these women. Two years ago, they were strangers, and now I would do literally anything for them. They have shaped me into someone I am truly proud to be. When I say I wouldn’t be the person I am today without Alpha Chi, I mean that with everything in me. “Incredible” doesn’t even begin to describe the kind of love and devotion that lives here.

I truly believe being Vice President of New Member Education is the greatest position in the world. I get to watch these girls fall in love with Alpha Chi—the same way I did two years ago. This position has brought me the kind of joy that is hard to put in words. Watching my first new members walk into this chapter shy, and then grow into the most genuine versions of themselves. I’ve seen them find their people and discover for themselves that they’ve found something real here. Just getting to see my first new members get initiated, join committees, find their friend groups, and see them open up– the same way I did– means more to me than I could ever describe. There is no greater feeling than watching someone find a place where they are fully, unapologetically themselves. And knowing that, in some small way, I helped them get there… that I helped them find a home… it’s a feeling that could never be replaced” -💌Baylee Broomfield, MC ‘24
