We are doing a band aid drive for local hospitals this week! These help serve as a distraction tool while children get a poke (shot) and make it a little more fun! I mean who doesn’t love getting a cute frozen or awesome dinosaur band aid!?

The CLSA has a lot to celebrate this month!!! It’s Child Life month and our president of the CLSA got into grad school! For Child Life month we are celebrating all of the Child Life Specialists and the amazing work they do. Thank you to all of the CCLS for paving the way and teaching our students so much. To celebrate Child Life month on our college
campus, CLSA will be hosting a collection drive for the Child Life department of Ochsner LSU Shreveport Medical Center. We will be collecting the following items:
-Bandaids (colorful and/or character themed)
-Small stuffed animals
-Small boys/girls toys (barbies, action figures, littlest pet
shop, hot wheels cars, etc.)
-Small hygiene products (travel shampoo/conditioner,
toothbrush/toothpaste, deodorant, body sprays, etc.)
-Socks
-Adult coloring books
-Puzzles and/or board games
The drop off area is CTH 251 & 346. The drive will end on March 25th🤗

We would also like to congratulate Sydney Goudie on her acceptance to Texas State for graduate school!!! We are so proud of you and cannot wait to see what you accomplish in the future👩🏼‍🎓

Here are some 2018 highlights from LA Tech Child Life!! We got to visit Shriners Hospital for Children and some of our students went to the Child Life conference in Fort Worth, Texas! We are all so excited to see what 2019 will bring to this school and these students🎉

Hey everyone!! My name is Caitlin Courtright and I am a junior at Tech. I am from Baton Rouge. I am in Family and Child Studies with a concentration in Child Life and Child Development. This year I serve as the PR/ Historian for CLSA. I love spending time with my family & my friends!! In my free time I like to run, read, & watch Netflix! We are all so excited to see what the CLSA can do this year!!

Hey! My name is Allison Ruff and I am a senior in FCS concentrating in Child Life and minoring in Psychology from White Hall, Arkansas. I am the treasure of CLSA and have been a member for the past 2 years. I love hanging out with my friends, playing with my dog, Indigo, and have an unhealthy obsession with Whataburger Honey Butter Chicken Biscuts. Can’t wait to see everyone this year in CLSA!

My name is Avery Friedmann and I am a junior Child Life major at Louisiana Tech. I chose to be a Child Life Specialist because I understand the feelings of uncertainty and anxiety in a hospital, and I want to be able to provide that support to children who are sick. I love being apart of Child Life Student Association because I'm able to meet other students who have the same passion as me, as well as learn how to be an advocate for Child Life.
