Please help us in congratulating this year's ARC Skills Welding Competition winners!

Students completing the Welding Technology Associate program, taking classes in one of our certification focuses, and active Welding class students were invited to sign up in one of our categories of welding. Students challenged themselves by reading custom-for-competition blueprints for FCAW, SMAW, GMAW, Combo Pipe, Stainless Steel GTAW, and more! Upon completing their projects in the time limit, industry CWIs inspected projects and applied points based on appearance, fit up, weldments. Project numbers were assigned to students before the welding began for a blind-judging.

Category winners went home with some incredible gear and tools to help them get started on their welding careers after completing their program or class.

Thank you to everyone that practiced and participated - including our 4 high school competitors!, to our winners, to visiting family and friends for our after-competition lunch, faculty members that came in on a Saturday to cheer on our competitors, and to our Staff who worked to make this all happen.

Here's a throwback to one of our students who fabricated a sign for their grandparents' home.

We're getting our automated plasma cutter, water jet, CNC, and some other brand-new pieces of gear setup in our fresh MakerSpace and cannot wait to see all the projects our students create! 💪

It's just about that time of year again! Students are prepping for our upcoming ARC Skills Welding Competition.

On Saturday, May 3rd - we're asking students to get here bright and early to compete in SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW Stainless Steel, and Combo Pipe categories. Students placing 3rd through 1st place will walk home with a killer prize pack on top of sweet bragging rights.

A huge shout out to Instructor Chris M. and Lab Manager Vlad T. for prepping, planning, and spending extra time today (and next Thursday) going over the rules and expectations for competition day.

Some students are up early today and working hard in our Ultrasonic Testing Level 2 class!

Hard work equals great rewards in both our Ultrasonic Level 1 and Level 2 courses. Students earn industry hours in Ultrasonic Testing as well as have the opportunity to certify to different Ultrasonic Testing Levels and competencies at the end of each session.

We're proud to have a full complement of UT testing machines and some students already in the workforce bring their own to help accelerate their careers.
