The Puente Project is a national-award winning program that has helped tens of thousands of educationally disadvantaged students who enroll in four-year year colleges and universities, earn degrees, and return to the community as leaders and mentors to future generations. The Glendon in Oak Park is a 43-unit, 100% affordable senior housing community serving seniors 62 years of age and older with incomes between 30% and 60% Area Median Income (AMI). Twelve of the 43 units serve formerly homeless seniors who will receive housing vouchers through SHRA. and its partner, Itasker Hollins Community Economic Development Corporation developed this project which earned a Business Journal's Best Affordable Housing Real Estate Project 2025 award.
