He heard two words: Code Blue.
And while others kept lifting, scrolling, showering, he moved.
No uniform. No obligation. No spotlight.
Inside the locker room, an older man had collapsed. Sean Wilson — alum of Sac State’s Paramedic Program — stepped in without hesitation.
Assessment. AED leads. Collaboration with an emergency physician who happened to be there. A calm, precise handoff when EMS arrived.
Later, the physician said his performance reflected the highest standards of EMS training.
Sean puts it more simply:
“With the skills I have been taught and the job I have, I am never off the clock.”
