SVSU-OLLI Learning Trip: Kenya, Tanzania & Zanzibar

In total, our adventure spanned seven flights and more than 17,000 air miles, plus over 1,500 jeep-driven miles — carrying us from the bush savanna of Samburu National Reserve and the breathtaking Rift Valley at Lake Naivasha to the legendary grasslands of the Maasai Mara. We wandered the historic streets of Stone Town in Zanzibar, explored its aromatic spice farms, and paid tribute at the Freddie Mercury Museum before concluding our wildlife journey at Mikumi National Park in Tanzania.

Along the way, we immersed ourselves in new languages, vibrant cultures, and incredible cuisine — and we came home transformed.

SVSU-OLLI 16-Day Learning Adventure: Kenya, Tanzania & Zanzibar

What an extraordinary journey we shared across Kenya, Tanzania, and Zanzibar! From our very first days in Nairobi to our final wildlife encounters at Mikumi National Park,in Tanzani, this learning adventure delivered wonder at every turn. A heartfelt thank you to our Go Ahead Tour Director, Boni Boni for sharing his knowledge, passion, humor, and homeland with us. Each day truly did get better than the last.

What a fantastic OLLI 25th Anniversary Jazz Brunch! 🎶✨
