💥 ALUMNI BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT 💥- Aun Loon Gwan Kung Fu and Tai Chi School

Founded by Sam Widerschein ’04, Aun Loon Gwan Kung Fu and Tai Chi School offers training in both the physical and internal aspects of traditional Chinese martial arts. Sam teaches the Five Animal Style of Shaolin Kung Fu—inspired by the tiger, crane, leopard, snake, and dragon—as well as Yang Style Tai Chi, focusing on its martial applications and benefits for balance, flexibility, and overall well-being.

In addition to practical self-defense, the school emphasizes the restorative and meditative side of Tai Chi, including breathwork, meditation, and gentle exercises that support stress reduction, focus, and long-term health.

With over 12 years of experience, Sam works with students of all ages and backgrounds, creating an inclusive, supportive environment tailored to a wide range of physical and emotional needs.

REMINDER: 41ST ANNUAL HUGH SHAW MEMORIAL SURF CONTEST | 🏄‍♀️

The Flagler surf family has gathered for 41 years to celebrate the life of alumnus Hugh Shaw, who died in 1983. This event is truly a daylong “expression session.” This friendly competition is open to all alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends of all ages. Lunch will be provided at 12:30PM for $15 per person. 🌴

Crisp-Ellert Art Museum is excited to host its bi-annual exhibition of artwork on Friday, May 15th, created by Department of Visual Arts alumni. A wonderful reflection of our alumni’s diverse artistic practices, the exhibition will feature artwork that varies in content, concept, method, and material, and spans disciplines such as painting, drawing, sculpture, graphic design, video, and mixed-media installation. 🎨
