Earlier this month, SCTCC celebrated its fourth Rising Stars Cohort at KREWE with students from the St. Cloud and Sauk Rapids-Rice school districts. Chefs Mateo and Erin have been with Rising Stars from the start and provided the meal for this important milestone for the students.

May is Mental Health Awareness month! Earlier in May, Wellness Resource Services invited SCTCC to wear green to raise awareness, reduce stigma & show support for mental health.

Shawntell Misquadace is the ultimate model for turning her grades around. In 2022, she graduated from Tech High School and McKinley ALC with a .7 GPA. Yep, a .7. Now she's graduating with an AA from SCTCC with a 4.0!

Shawntell took part in the St. Cloud Indigenous Blanket Ceremony, which celebrates those who identify as Native America, First Nations, Alaska Native, and Indigenous who are graduating from local college, universities, or the 742 school district. Congrats, Shawntell, on this MASSIVE achievement!

Ready for the big day? Commencement is this Thursday! A few things to note if you're planning to join us in celebrating our grads:

1. Doors will close at 4 p.m. and any latecomers will be directed to the overflow room. Make sure you are seated before then.
2. No balloons.
3. No flowers.
4. Bussing is provided from SCTCC starting at 2:30 p.m. if you want to avoid downtown parking.
5. Grads should be at River's Edge at 3 p.m.

Earlier this spring, students from Kathy Robinson's Holocaust and Genocide Studies class had the opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C. to visit the US Holocaust Memorial Museum.
One student shared that “Seeing the amount of shoes and belongings at the museum, puts a better perspective for me of how many people were victims of the Holocaust. It was eerie to see and walk on the bricks from the ghettos and see how small the cattle cars were that hundreds of people were put into for days."
