This short term study abroad program is designed for anyone who is interested in performance. We go to the UK, live in a castle, and go to the world's biggest performance festival for two weeks! There's tons of incredible performance from all over the globe addressing important social issues. It's open to anyone, including students (if you're currently enrolled) and community members (if you're an alum and/or faculty member).

Our semester focus: Performing Citizenship

What does it mean to be an American citizen? What if any responsibility do we have to ourselves and others as Americans? How is our concept of responsibility affected by race, gender, religion, etc.? How do citizens of other countries view American democracy? In CMST 410 we will study and critically examine the personal/political complexities of what it means to be a citizen in American democracy. International students are particularly encouraged to offer their perspective in this course.

Please consider lending your participation to Paying and Zaya from our CMST 302: Performance and Social Change class!

"My partner (Zaya) and I (Paying) would like to conduct a flash mob for our CMST 302 Performance and Social Change class with Jen Tuder. The idea behind it, is to express the notion that we as students do not have a reliable place to rest but find strange places to sleep such as floors of buildings, the computer spaces in the Miller Center and other places. We are looking for willing participants to partake in the Flash mob. We need your help to make a difference!

If you would like to have more information on the performance, we will be having a meeting on Sept. 24th at 12:30pm in at Headly hall in room 227.
If you have any questions, you can contact me at [email protected] or contact my partner at [email protected] "
