🎨 Today, we are highlighting Spring 2026 Art Education graduate, Erika Rivera! 🎓

As a part of her teacher residency at Apollo High School this year, she coordinated a visiting artist workshop for students and their friends and family members. She enlisted the help of fellow artists Olivia Jackson, Ash Ward, Andrea Burris, and Madi Scheierl. The workshop took place May 14th at Apollo. Attendees were able to meet the artists, learn about post-secondary creative pathway options, learn new creative techniques and processes, and take home the projects they created.

As a resident, Erika engaged in a yearlong student-teaching experience with Apollo Art teacher/mentor Andrea Burris. The teacher residency program is an active partnership between SCSU and St. Cloud Area School District 742 designed to provide SCSU teaching candidates with a school-embedded learning experience with immersion in district culture, instructional priorities, and school community.

🎓❤️🖤 Today, we celebrated more than a graduation; we celebrated years of hard work, growth, perseverance, and dreams becoming reality!

The College of Education and Learning Design undergraduate commencement ceremony was filled with proud moments, happy tears, laughter, and the excitement of new beginnings. Watching our graduates cross the stage surrounded by family, friends, faculty, and classmates was a beautiful reminder of the impact education has on lives and communities. 🌟

To our graduates: thank you for the passion, kindness, leadership, and dedication you brought to COELD. Whether you are heading into classrooms, organizations, graduate programs, or new adventures, know that you leave here ready to make a difference.
