The Iota Kappa Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. was originally chartered on March 12, 1977 to serve as an intermediate chapter at Southern University until its deactivation.
In 2025, a few Noble Brothers petitioned for the reactivation of Iota Kappa Chapter as a graduate chapter, and the request was officially granted on May 6, 2026.
Today, the chapter is located in St. Francisville and proudly serves the communities of Baker, Central, and Zachary, along with the Parishes of East Feliciana and West Feliciana. The chapter proudly operates within the MIGHTY Ninth District of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc..
The brothers of Iota Kappa Chapter are dedicated to serving and empowering individuals throughout the region through the Fraternity’s internationally mandated programs, with a strong emphasis on community uplift, academic excellence, literacy, leadership and personal development. These programs include Achievement Week, Scholarship, Social Action, Talent Hunt, Memorial Service, Reclamation and Retention, the College Endowment Fund, Health Initiatives, Voter Registration, Education and Mobilization, NAACP participation, Fatherhood and Mentoring programs, and STEM initiatives.
Through service, leadership and brotherhood, the men of Iota Kappa Chapter remain committed to uplifting their communities while exemplifying the cardinal principles of Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance, and Uplift.
