πŸ—£οΈπŸŽŠSummer classes are underway, so the CAS wants to shout out another former tutor for ! πŸ—£οΈπŸŽŠ

This week, we want to highlight former math and supervisor, Camie Steinhoff! Camie is currently working at Spotify in User Research, where she says she "...feels so lucky to work on a product used by millions of people while tackling complex problems in the audio space." Camie goes on to say, "I’m based in Stockholm, Sweden, now and have loved getting to know a city with so much historyβ€”and so many great traditions, like Midnattsloppet! This photo is from after I finished the 10K through the city at night. Outside of work, I’ve been doing improv for over a decade; I’m currently in a dramatic improv class that I’ve been really enjoying as I explore new styles here."

When asked about her favorite memory of the CAS, she says: "Looking back, my favorite CAS part was definitely the other tutors. They were all so bright and funny, and they honestly made the stress of grad school manageable. I’m still so grateful I had a team that knew how to have a good time while supporting other students with their growth."

The CAS wants to highlight several students that crossed the stage on Saturday and thank them for all their hard work as tutors and S.I. leaders! πŸŽ“

Whether they were a tutor or S.I. Leader, every student on this list helped make the CAS great! While we are sad to see such a great group of students leave, we are thankful for all they've done to make the CAS a great place for Griffons to succeed, and we can't wait to see what they do next! πŸŽ‰πŸ‘πŸŽŠ

The CAS is proud to announce that our writing tutor, Mallory, earned CRLA Level 1 Certification this semester! Mallory has accumulated enough tutoring hours and training this semester to receive this honor, and she continues to train and work hard to earn Level 2 Certification in Fall 2026. Kudos to Mallory!

πŸ‘ Another round of applause to our tutors, who continue to inspire, educate, and make a difference every day at the CAS! πŸ™Œ

He said his favorite memories of the CAS include hanging out with friends and other tutors as well as the amazing end-of-semester parties!

πŸŽ‰πŸ‘ Congrats to our amazing tutors! πŸ‘πŸŽ‰

The CAS is proud to announce that several tutors have earned higher levels of CRLA Certification this semester.

Congrats to Max, Quincy, and Hunter for earning their CRLA Level 2 Certification this semester! This milestone reflects their continued hard work and passion for helping students succeed. We hope they will continue to work their way to CRLA Level 3 in Fall!

Congrats, as well, to Madalynn for earning CRLA Level 3 Certification this semester. This certification is the highest level a tutor can earn and demonstrates Madalynn's dedication to serve her fellow Griffs as a tutor and leader within the CAS.

πŸ‘ Three cheers to our tutors, who continue to inspire, educate, and make a difference every day at the CAS! πŸ™Œ

πŸ—£οΈπŸŽŠ We're back with another CAS alumni shoutout!πŸ—£οΈπŸŽŠ

This week we highlight a former math tutor, Dallace Hamel!

Dallace currently lives in Nebraska, and works at a company called Scoular. She says, "I am an HR Business Partner and thoroughly love the creative problem solving I use every day. I spend most of my time with my nieces, Gabbi and Brin, as well as with my partner, Eric. I kickbox 6 days a week, and often find myself either playing soccer, pickleball, or sand volleyball in pick-up leagues throughout the week. Love to be active and outdoors (weather permitting)."

Learning the secret to keeping plants healthy is one of Dallace’s favorite memories of the CAS! β€œDue to my schedule obligations, I often worked closing shifts at the CAS. One night while closing, I noticed Susan had poured her drink into one of our longest living plants. The plant wrapped around the CAS ceilings, and was extremely healthy. At the time, I had assumed it was leftover water, but later I realized that Susan regularly drank Diet Coke,” she says. β€œWhen I asked Susan about what she was pouring into the plant, I remember she shrugged her shoulders, and answered β€˜It likes it.’ From that day, I ALSO continue feeding my plants Diet Coke.”
