Over the past couple of weeks, our campus has experienced some of our lowest lows and our highest highs. We recognize that these acts of hate are nothing new to the St. Thomas community, but such an incredible and massive display of unity is. Our world and campus are changing, and Cadenza and the Summit Singers have committed to creating a project that both embraces and encourages this positive growth in solidarity.
On Tuesday, November 13th and Tuesday, November 20th from 11:45-1pm in the OEC Auditorium, we invite members from your clubs to join us in this effort to share a message of love and unity. Each person will have the opportunity to write their response to the prompt, "We stand for..." and share it with our film team. These clips will go toward a music video that Cadenza and the Summit Singers will underscore with the song "If You're Out There" by John Legend. We encourage club members to come in groups, as that will create opportunities for more of these clips to be included in the final video.
We are reaching out to not just multicultural groups but to many different groups to show a diverse background. We believe that coming together as a community to spread love, especially in the wake of hate, is something that all of us can, and should, do. On that note, please spread this message to your other classmates, friends, professors, and faculty who may be interested in partaking in this project as well.
Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions - we hope you will join us to spread this important message.
