Our Story
Welcome! We’re so glad you found our page.
We’re the Hamline University Theatre Library and Archives. What does that mean, you ask? My dear friend, it means that we are nothing short of the sentinels of the scripts. The curators of the collections. The angels of the anthologies. We? Are the magical beings who curate and protect information.
...Otherwise known as: librarians.
Our job may sound simple enough, but make no mistake: we’ve got plenty of work on our hands. Not only do we maintain and loan out a massive collection of scripts, anthologies, and books on just about every aspect of theatre you can imagine, but we also keep an extensive archive of photos, posters, information, and other materials from past shows and theatre events. Not only can we loan you our books, but we also use all these resources to conduct in-depth dramaturgical analyses of Hamline University Theatre performances, as well as performing some other behind-the-scenes work in order to make the theatre not only a space for art and creativity, but for education, too.
