St. Thomas School of Social Work

St. Thomas School of Social Work The School of Social Work is part of the Morrison Family College of Health at the University of St. Thomas.

Mission: Grounded in social justice and inspired by Catholic social thought, we educate and engage students to learn, grow and develop their professional skills as they prepare for social work practice in support of health, well being and the common good. Our school provides students with individual attention, a focused learning environment and real-world application opportunities they need to mak

e a necessary difference in the world with their degree. Our Bachelor of Social Work program prepares students to enter generalist social work practice. Our Master of Social Work program focuses on clinical social work, and prepares graduates to practice at the post-master's level. Our Doctor of Social Work is designed to prepare seasoned social work faculty and experienced practitioners for university-level teaching and leadership in higher education. All of our programs advance the Morrison Family College of Health's mission to prepare highly skilled and caring professionals who are culturally responsive, practice with ingenuity, and proactively advance health equity and social justice.

Another school year is in the books, and it wouldn't be the end of the year if we didn't highlight our Area of Emphasis in Aging Scholars!

Thank you to everyone who joined us on May 15 for our Annual Spring Celebration and Workshop. It was a wonderful day filled with panel speakers from a range of Palliative, Hospice, and Bereavement Care settings, and of course our AEA Scholar Clinical Portfolio presentations. 💟

"I’m truly encouraged by the intentional way we infused leadership into our program and by the thoughtful curriculum that grew from that work, including complex analysis. I’m excited for us to continue setting the standard as a program that inspires and prepares future doctors and leaders."
