A big congratulations to this year's CBS alumni award winners! Paul Lampe (Ph.D. BMBB, ā€˜84) and Tad Sonstegard (Ph.D. MCDB&G, ā€˜95) received the Alumni Achievement Award which recognizes alums who graduated before 2011 and have made an impact in their field, community, and the world. Enoch Kan (B.S. Biology, ā€˜18) received the Emerging Leader Award, which recognizes alums who graduated within the last 15 years and have demonstrated leadership in their work or community. Mervyn de Souza (Ph.D. BMBB, ā€™98) was named the CBS Alumni Service Award winner, which recognizes alums who have made a significant impact in their community through public or professional service.

Join us at the Bell Museum on October 8 at 6 p.m. or October 11 at 4:30 p.m. for a musical experience highlighting research into the urban environment where we live, work and play.

"The Urban Ecosystem: Music Inspired by the Nature of Cities" is a collaboration between Seattle-based composer Jessi Harvey, the Twin Citiesā€™ own 10th Wave Chamber Music Collective and the Minneapolis-St. Paul Long-Term Ecological Research (MSP LTER) program.

Through live music and accompanying visuals, explore how plants, animals and humans interact with each other in the lakes, forests and grasslands that make up our local, urban ecosystem. šŸŽµ
