What a joy it was to have alumna Alisha Korpi (Flute Performance, 2020) perform a recital today! This recital was presented as an opportunity to fulfill a milestone that was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Alisha performed works by J.S. Bach, Franz Doppler, Ian Clarke, Claude Bolling, and one of her own compositions, and was joined by collaborative musicians Sonja Grimes, Patrick Adkins, and Sharla Jost, piano; Jay Corkran, drums; Jeremiah Roby, bass; and Lilia Smith, cello. While a student at Northwestern, Alisha was a student of Michele Frisch and Karen Baumgartner.

Join us on Tuesday, May 5 at 7:30 p.m. as the winners of the 2025-2026 UNW Concerto-Aria competition appear as featured soloists with the UNW Orchestra! Pianist Cora Tsang will perform the first movement of Sergei Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 3, op. 26 in C Major and soprano Allison Dzioba will perform "Les oiseaux dans la charmille" (The Doll Song) from Les contes d'Hoffman by Jaques Offenbach. The Orchestra will also perform La Vie Parisienne Overture on the Themes of Offenbach arranged by Dorati and Elmer Bernstein's music from the film To Kill a Mockingbird. Tickets are available at unwtickets.com or at the UNW Ticket Office.

Congratulations to Benjamin Walker and teacher Colin Woelfle on today's excellent senior saxophone recital! Collaborative pianist Sonja Grimes and saxophone quartet members Ashley Moen, Logan Gibson, and Elizabeth Simon assisted with a program including works of Handel (arr. Mule), Couf, Noda, Bozza, Bencriscutto, Albéniz (arr. Mule), and Harlow. The quartet was coached by Dr. Cassandra Bechard.
