We are excited to announce that we will be hosting our first Alumni Network social event on Saturday, August 16th!

We’ll be meeting at Northbound Smokehouse & Brewpub in Minneapolis from 3:00-5:00 pm.

This casual event will be a great opportunity to socialize with fellow alumni and the student members of the Alumni Network Advisory Board. We will provide board games, but feel free to bring your own. Northbound Smokehouse & Brewpub offers a full food menu in addition to beer, cocktails, and nonalcoholic beverages.
We hope to see you there!

We are excited to announce that the MLIS Summit is back!! This year, the Summit will be held on the afternoon of April 26, 2025 (specific time TBD) as a hybrid event, meaning both in person and virtual attendence will be possible. The topic of the keynote will be AI and Libraries.

All St. Kate’s LIS student groups will be co-hosting a Scholars & Sips Social Mixer for current students at Sociable Cider Werks in Minn. this Saturday (9/23) from 3-5 pm! Non-alcoholic drinks will be available and children are welcome.

**This event will also be live streamed here, on our page, so if you aren't able to attend in person, you will be able to join that way!**

Congratulations to Stephen Hearn on being awarded this year's ALA Margaret Mann Citation! The award is sponsored by OCLC and provides a $2,000 scholarship donation to the LIS school of the award winner’s choice. Stephen has chosen St. Kate's MLIS as this year’s recipient. Thank you so much, Stephen! We're also grateful for the years you shared your valuable expertise with our students as an adjunct professor!

This was announced at this week's ALA Annual Conference.

Stephen Hearn has been selected as the recipient of the 2023 Margaret Mann Citation, sponsored by OCLC and Core: Leadership, Infrastructure, Futures. He is retired from the position of Metadata Strategist in the Technical Services Department, University Libraries at the University of Minnesota.
