Fire crews are actively responding to a fire at the Marine Science Laboratory (MSL).

While the cause is unclear, The Crow’s Nest received reports of either a chemical fire or a lightning strike as the cause.
At approximately 5 p.m., USF St. Petersburg students were met with sirens and a scene of smoke billowing from the peninsula of the St. Petersburg campus. University faculty working near the area are being evacuated.
The MSL is among the oldest buildings on the St. Petersburg, where the campus’s first classes were held in 1965.
It was originally opened in 1939 as a maritime service training station. It currently houses research labs and faculty offices for the Marine Science Program. This is a developing story.

The Bulls opened their season with an emotional tribute to late head coach Amir Abdur-Rahim, honoring him with a moment of silence, an empty seat on the bench, and the unveiling of the 2024 AAC Champions banner alongside his family.

The team then secured an 85-69 victory over UAPB, with De’Ante Green and Brandon Stroud leading the way.

Catch the Bulls back at the Yuengling Center tonight at 7 p.m.

It was a bittersweet homecoming for residents of Pelican Apartments (RHO).

The dormitory was closed after sustaining water damages from Hurricane Milton. And when residents returned to their rooms in the week of Oct. 28, it wasn’t exactly a moment to celebrate.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers fell 23-20 in a last minute field goal from the San Francisco 49ers on Nov. 13.

The Salute to Service game was not short of excitement, but ultimately the inability of the Bucs to finish strong in yet another game puts them 4-6 going into their bye week.

“We have to finish ballgames,” Bucs head coach Todd Bowles said. “There’s nothing wrong with how hard we’re playing and how tough we’re playing, but we have to finish games. We’re making too many mistakes at the end.”

The match marked the return of 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey, who suffered a bilateral Achilles tendinitis injury in preparation for the season, and also wide receiver Ricky Pearsall’s first touchdown since getting shot after an attempted robbery against him.

For the Bucs, it’s their third week without key players like wide receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin.

Tampa Bay will play the New York Giants on Sunday, Nov. 24 at 1 p.m. in MetLife Stadium.

The University of South Florida’s homecoming party was spoiled by the Navy Midshipmen in a 28-7 blowout.

The loss puts USF at a record of 4-5 and 2-3 in conference play. Navy moves to 7-2 on the season.

Navy’s triple-option offense prevented USF’s defense from getting them off the field for most of the game, this caused limited opportunities for the Bulls offense which they failed to capitalize on.
