This past weekend, the sirens played an scrimmage to get the rookies accustomed to a real rugby game... and they killed it! We played 10s and were really evenly matched- allowing for everyone to get some experience on the rugby pitch in preparation for next year’s season! It was an awesome day 🥳🏉 photo credits:

Waiting for the rugby season to start again like...

Former Eckerd Sirens Women's Rugby player Ally Gallagher has been around the block when it comes to playing high level women's rugby, and she's ready to share her experiences with you at the 2021 NCR All Star Summit! You will be able to ask her anything on January 17th at 2pm EST, so start making your questions list!

"My rugby journey began fall of my freshman year when I joined the Eckerd Sirens Team. I soon fell in love with the sport. After learning 15s, I also pursued playing summer 7s with Tampa Krewe. Since then, I have had incredible playing opportunities for both sides. I have represented USA South Panthers at various tournaments where we won gold, and I have captained the Sirens to the sweet 16 of the nation two times under Coach Mike Geibel. During my senior year, Eckerd hosted the NSCRO All-Star 7s Championship, which changed my rugby future. After winning gold with NSCRO South All-Stars, I was selected by Coach Bryn Chivers to represent NSCRO select side at the LVI and at CRCs. From there, I was fortunate enough to spend the next two summers training with Scion Rugby Academy under Toshi and Joanne who taught me everything they could. In 2018 Scion took home silver at the Club 7s Nationals and I was selected to the 2018 Dream Team. I then traveled to Hokkaido, Japan to play with the USA Falcons where I scored my first international try! After that I spent the next year playing with Scion where we took home silver in Barbados, bronze at the 2019 Club 7s Nationals, and gold at the USA Rugby National Development Academy Invitational."
