Hon. (Princess) Olawumi A. Fayemi-Obayelu

Hon. (Princess) Olawumi A. Fayemi-Obayelu is a distinguished Nigerian legislator, accomplished entrepreneur, and philanthropist, whose career spans over a decade in corporate leadership, business development, and public service. Born into the royal Akenneyin dynasty of Amapetu’s Palace, Ode-Mahin, Ilaje Local Government Area, Ondo State, she has consistently demonstrated excellence in leadership, governance, and community development.
An alumna of Lagos State University (B.Sc. Business Administration) and Elizade University (MBA, Human Resource Management; M.Sc. Business Administration), Hon. Fayemi-Obayelu also holds an M.Sc. in Human Resource Management from the African Institute of Science, Administration and Commercial Studies, Lome, Togo. She is currently pursuing dual academic doctorates at the University of California, USA, and Elizade University, Nigeria.
A certified Human Resource Practitioner and youngest-ever Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Human Resources and Strategic Management of Nigeria (2021), she also holds fellowship with the Institute for Professional Managers and Administrators of Nigeria (IPMAN) and numerous professional certifications locally and internationally. Her corporate career includes leadership roles in oil & gas, hospitality, security, fashion, interior design, and logistics.
In politics, she has played pivotal roles in campaign strategy, youth mobilization, and legislative service within the All Progressives Congress (APC), culminating in her election to the 10th Ondo State House of Assembly in 2023. She serves as Chairman of the House Standing Committee on Women Affairs and Social Development, Vice Chairman of the OSOPADEC Committee, and an active member of ten other standing committees, including the Public Accounts Committee.
Her legislative tenure is marked by courageous advocacy—most notably as part of the historic “G11 Integrity Group” that opposed an unjust impeachment attempt in Ondo State—and by impactful constituency projects in education, infrastructure, women’s empowerment, and agricultural development, often in collaboration with national and international development agencies.
In recognition of her outstanding leadership prowess, Hon. (Princess) Olawumi A. Fayemi-Obayelu was conferred with the Doctorate Degree in Strategic Leadership (Honoris Causa) by our esteemed University on the occasion of the United Nations Public Service Day 2025, commemorated by the Public Office Holders Association of Nigeria.
