Abigail Ketterman ‘20 and Abby Meade ’20 will be working alongside Dr. Murrill to petition for honors in the major. This is the first time that the interdisciplinary studies department will have students doing an honors in the major project.

“I’ll be interviewing seasoned educators about what they believe are the most helpful practices in teaching active learners and children with learning differences,” says Meade. “I’ll then analyze the data I collect to determine what the best practices are for helping these types of students.”

In October, Ketterman will present her research on project based learning at the Kappa Delta Pi conference, the national education honor society.

“I’m looking forward to exploring Project Based Learning and ensuring meaningful experiences in the classroom for students,” says Ketterman. “Being able to study something I have such a passion for is so rewarding and I can’t wait to share my love for learning with my own students one day!”
