These students studied the behind the scenes of Disney; learning about the leadership that makes Disney such a powerful franchise. They got to experience hands on learning along with experiencing the Disney park! 🎢

Mary Austin Andrews, a rising senior, is currently in Germany for her May Term. 🇩🇪 🧳

She shares the following about her wonderful experience:
My time in Germany has been an incredible experience. I’ve learned so much about the country’s history, culture, and everyday life—both past and present. I’ve had the opportunity to visit Wittenberg, Leipzig, Dresden, and Berlin, each city offering its own unique charm. The museums and churches were especially fascinating, with distinct architectural styles and rich historical significance. I truly hope to return to Germany someday! 🛫

Naashra Aikens, a rising junior is spending her May Term in Greece! Since her time in Greece is coming to an end, here is what she has to say about the experience:

Walking the same paths as Pausanias this May Term has been unreal. Eleusis opened my eyes to ancient rituals, Athens kept the past and present in constant conversation, Nafplio and Pylos showed how sea and history mix, and Sparta added a dose of legend. Favorite memory: picking fresh oranges on a farm, cooking a Greek dinner together, and sharing it! Greece is turning class content into real life and every stop is a lesson I won’t forget.

Students on the Italy May Term had the opportunity to meet up with Zach Nowak, the director of the Umbra Institute!

The Umbra Institute is one of Roanoke College biggest Italy study away partners. These students get to explore Italy’s culture by focusing on travel writing to further their education. 🇮🇹🍝

Mazie Roop, a rising senior, has been in Argentina on her May Term. Here is what she has to say about the experience:

Being in Argentina has allowed me to fully immerse myself in the spanish speaking world. I’ve had the opportunity to learn linguistic differences special to Argentina and learn about women’s impact on society. We’ve got to explore the country’s history through museums and classes learning about influential women like Evita Person and María Remedios del Valle. Also on the weekends we get to do fun excursions like going to the city of Tigre and a ranch in Estancia.

We are looking forward to hearing about everyone’s May Terms this semester! ✈️

Before the seniors graduated, we were able to reward our study away and international students with their stoles! These stoles represented the countries RC students studied at & the home countries of our international students!

Congrats to all the graduated seniors! We loved seeing you all at the banquet. 🎉
