We are thrilled to announce that ‘Surface Tension,’ the Senior Art Major Exhibition, opens on Friday, April 10th from 6-8 PM at the Hallie Ford Museum of Art! Please join us!

The show runs from April 11-May 9 with student gallery talks on Tuesdays at noon. This year’s class of student artists is dynamic, bold and deeply thoughtful—come celebrate their work with us!

From Bricolage to Yin Xiuzhen, Tom Sachs, and back again, this fashion was born when the students made jet-set bags from cardboard.
This work has grown and taken on a life of its own.
They are taking mixed media to an unknown place and giving it a new name that is theirs.
This Show is titled “CARRY ON”.
What a powerful sentiment. The work in this class is wild, joyous, free, fun, unexpected, dangerous, and honest

Please help us welcome Professor Claire Spaulding, who will be joking us for the rest of the semester while Professor Holden Head is on leave! Professor Spaulding brings a wealth of knowledge in Installation Art, soft sculpture, artist writing and so much more! Welcome Claire, we are so glad that you are here ✨ Read more about Professor Spaulding and her work below:

Claire Frances Spaulding (b. 1995) is a Portland-based creative that is joyfully distracted by kitsch, aesthetic theory, and ecology. Her studio practice focuses on soft sculptural, multimedia artworks. A self-identifying “Kitsch Bitch”, Spaulding embraces an empathy for plastic and the permanence of polymers towards a tchotchke futurity that will outlast us all. Graduating from PNCA with an MFA and MA in 20025, she joined Well Well Projects as Co-Director and Member. Her work was featured in group exhibitions held in Portland, OR; Roseville, CA; Chicago, IL; and Rome, Italy. She has attended residencies and art retreats in Utah, Vermont, Ireland, Germany, and Iceland.
