Students can also gain professional experience through internships in the greater Willamette Valley. Our 305‐acre forest and outdoor laboratory at Zena offers students another unique space to perform scientific research with faculty and find inspiration for their music and art. Willamette’s campus is also co‐located with Tokyo International University of America, providing opportunities to explore international culture through social, language and living exchanges. Our commitment to civic engagement is embodied in the university motto, “Not unto ourselves alone are we born.” The Willamette community contributes more than 70,000 service hours annually, helping people throughout the Salem community and partnering with organizations across the globe. We believe ideas bring us together, and that caring for each other helps us live meaningful lives. One of the biggest perks of Willamette’s Master’s in Data Science program? The community. 🤝

Last week, MSDS alumni returned to speak with current students about preparing for the job search, and one theme came up again and again: relationships matter.

From informational interviews to networking with coworkers and alumni, our graduates shared how building genuine connections helped open doors, clarify career goals, and create opportunities across industries.

At Willamette, you’re not just building technical skills in data science, you’re building a network of mentors, peers, and alumni invested in your success. 📊

We are so excited to see the Hallie Ford Museum of Art featured on this list!

"The Hallie Ford Museum quietly punches well above its weight and deserves far more recognition than it typically receives."

Test your grip strength, marvel at vacuum cleaners, tour a time capsule. Oregon's weird museums defy easy description and reward curiosity.
