We had four new exhibitions to open up on Friday, but we are even happier to support the Flattening of the Curve. Today, I'm featuring this label from the collection of Susanne McBride that is in the 'Art of Agriculture' exhibition.

The exhibition announces that beginning in the Fall of 2020, California State University, Monterey Bay's College of Science will launch a new Agricultural Plant and Soil Science degree program. This program will be tailored to focus on the specialty crops grown here in the Salinas valley and will incorporate practical, hands-on learning and industry or research internship placements to provide college-to-career pathways. The curriculum will develop cross-cutting skills such as strong quantitative and communication skills, as well as expertise in plant science, and integrated soil, water, nutrient and pest management. CSUMB's agriculture program will partner closely with our local community colleges including Hartnell to provide pathways to a four year degree for our local students, allowing them to become the future of Salinas Valley Agriculture.

Thank you to the Monterey County Farm Bureau for your support!
Be safe and well, all.

We had four new exhibitions to open up on Friday, but we are even happier to support the Flattening of the Curve. Tonight's featured artist from our "Convergence: Carr Lake - Ecology and Community" exhibition is Al Shamble. This painting is 'Strolling through the Oaks,' 2020 Oil on linen panel.
He says, "A nature walk into a preserved open space connects us with the past as it was, encourages us for the day, and gives us hope for the future." Be sure to practice social distancing on your walks!

Big Sur Land Trust thank you for partnering with us on this exhibition. California State University, Monterey Bay is grateful to the artists for allowing us to exhibit their creations.

Live and interactive - a chance to connect and relax. All ages. Learn a drawing tip, and then paint and chat together in water color, tempera or what ever you have. (We will make some paint, too)
