Hartnell College MEChA Club M.E.Ch.A. is an organization that is dedicated to the movement to gain self determination for Chicano students at Hartnell College

M.E.Ch.A's soul purpose is
1. to increase the number of Chican@ students in higher education and to ensure that all necessary assistance is offered for successful completion.
2.to take part in the direction of the movement towards Chican@ self -determination or control over one;s destiny..
3.to socialize and politicize Chican@ students on their particular campus, to the ideals of the movement.


4. To establish close working relations in the barrios, assisting in all that has to be done to reach justice and equality for our people.
5. To educate and mobilize barrio youth towards self-determination and not self-destruction. WE ARE THE COMMUNITY AND FOR THE COMMUNITY.

Asian Cucumber Salad
Start with 5-6 Persian cucumber and spiral cut them. Add about 1 1/2 tbsps of salt in between the slices and let set for about 15-20 minutes before rinsing with cold water. Pat dry with a paper towel and add 1 tbsp minced garlic, 1/3 cup sliced onions, 1/4 sliced green onions if you have it, 1 tbsp soy sauce, 2 tbsp rice vinegar, 2 tbsp gochugaru aka Korean pepper powder ( add 1 tbsp if you want it less spicy) 1 tbsp brown sugar and 1 tbsp sesame seeds. Mix and eat immediately. The longer it sits the more soggy it will become
