Upsilon Beta Omega Chapter, formerly know as “The Ladies in Pink and Green,” began as an interest group in the late 80’s. As new sorors moved to the area, numbers began to grow and we researched the possibility of chartering a chapter. Because Utah is a transient area, it took quite a few years for us to get the number of sorors to charter a chapter. With the assistance of our sister chapter Theta
Theta Omega, and Regional Director, Cornelia Banks, we finally made history and were chartered in 1994. Upsilon Beta Omega focuses on sisterly relations and has an established and respected presence in the Salt Lake community. Our networking efforts include consulting with such organizations as the NAACP, local churches, the University of Utah, Salt Lake Community College, Utah State University, YWCA, Utah Black Chamber of Commerce, Zions Bank, Fidelity Investments, KWANZAA committee, and local public and private schools.
