The future of clean energy is being built right here in Utah!

Say hello to Geothermal Strategy Partners (GSP) - The newest startup spinning out of the University of Utah. As next-generation geothermal energy scales up globally, developers face unique technical and financing hurdles. GSP is stepping in to provide the independent engineering, risk assessment, and technical services needed to make enhanced geothermal systems a widespread reality.

Congratulations to founder CHE Professor Milind Deo and the team on translating cutting-edge academic research into industry-ready solutions!

The future of flight took center stage right here on campus at the U!

The John and Marcia Price College of Engineering was thrilled to participate in the 47G Project Alta Summit, hosted at the Ken Garff University Club at the University of Utah. This two-day event gathered top aerospace, infrastructure, and public-sector leaders to outline the roadmap for bringing Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) to market.

Dean Charles Musgrave attended the summit alongside key engineering faculty, demonstrating the U's commitment to advancing local supply chains, physical and digital flight infrastructure, and energy networks.
We were excited to connect with industry partners from L3Harris, XRDNA and several others.

Highlights from the summit included:
• Faculty Leadership: Mechanical Engineering Associate Professor Jake Hochhalter served as a featured panelist for "The Human Side of Infrastructure," sharing essential research insights into what a scalable, community-ready airspace requires.
•Cutting-Edge Tech: Attendees got a first-hand look at an innovative portable Vertiport and Mobile Command Center driven in for display by the Cherokee Emergency Response Unit from Oklahoma!

Thank you to for organizing an impactful summit that aligns public and private stakeholders to activate Utah’s powerhouse aerospace ecosystem.

A behind-the-scenes look at the new Price Computing and Engineering Building.

Last week, the Engineering National Advisory Council gathered to discuss our growth strategy centered around AI, entrepreneurship, and student and faculty success. We topped off the meeting with an exclusive hard-hat tour of the new building. Still under construction, but already incredible.

The five-story building will feature an expansive atrium, high-tech labs, 400-person lecture halls, and more. This will be where the next generation of engineers build, learn, and launch.

We can't wait to open the doors!
