Our robot will compete against other teams from across the country on JSC's Mock Mars Field. We will have one hour to drive the robot around the NASA field and collect rock samples. Our robot must be designed to traverse obstacles and will be driven via a wireless connection from the University of Utah Campus. The COLE VI robot arm uses six miniature linear actuators from Firgelli Technologies to manipulate the hand and wrist. Three of the actuators tilt the palm platform to align the wrist with the target. The other three are tied into the finger array, and help grab the rocks and bring them home. We scored 47 points on 'em!
