Meet Dayanara Ruiz 👏

An honors student double majoring in psychology and criminology, Dayanara is exploring how s*x differences show up in maze navigation using immersive virtual reality to take her research to the next level. 🧠🎮

Her work doesn’t just ask how we navigate spaces, but what those differences might reveal about cognition, behavior, and real-world decision-making.

🏆 Dayanara took home 1st place in the undergraduate category at the CSBS Student Research Day, an incredible achievement and a testament to her innovative approach to research.

Meet Alex Detrich, a PhD student in the Cognition & Neuroscience program 🧠

Her research explores how immersive virtual reality can train beginners to detect fractures—combining cutting-edge tech with cognitive science to build real-world diagnostic skills.

And it’s award-winning 👏 Alex took 1st place in the graduate student category at CSBS Student Research Day, recognizing both the innovation and impact of her work.
