To finish grooming these carefully selected students, we need one last ingredient -- your multi-generational wisdom in our classrooms. While helping us pass the torch of freedom, these courses will at the same time deepen your own understanding of liberty, and strengthen your influence in your family and personal spheres. If you've ever wondered what a GWU class is like, next Tuesday may be the perfect opportunity sit in on a discussion. Our American Literature class meets on Jan 20 at 6:00pm MST for a 3-hour discussion on The Scarlet Letter and we'd love for you to join us. After your visit (either online or on-campus), you'll have a week to choose whether you'd like to enroll in the class, either to receive either BA or MA credit or as an auditing student with the option to convert the class to credit later.

This class will explore literary classics that represent key historic periods in American culture, ranging from Puritan New England to the Great Depression South. Students will examine the influence of these classics on our understanding of American History, as well as the impact of these books on society as agents of change for better or worse, both then and now.
