Georgetown Law's Admissions Office and its Office of Equity and Inclusion will be hosting a special Spotlight on Diversity Information Session on Friday January 31, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Georgetown Law, 600 New Jersey Ave NW, in McDonough Hall, Room 202. The session will also be live streamed at https://www.law.georgetown.edu/webcasts/blog/spotlight-on-diversity-2020/ . Attendees will hear from the Dean of Admissions, the Director of Equity and Inclusion, and a panel of current Georgetown JD students.

The S.J. Quinney College of Law is looking for prelaw or other students willing/able to volunteer as witnesses or bailiffs for the Regional Trial Advocacy competition the College of Law is hosting this year. They are in great need of witnesses and bailiffs and would appreciate any help they can get.

The dates of the competition are:
Thursday, February 7
Friday, February 8
Saturday, February 9

Come hear Law Professor Matthew Wilson’s entertaining discussion about how he forged an interesting and diverse career in law. Professor Wilson is an experienced international and commercial lawyer who grew up in Utah, graduated from the University of Utah, and then headed east for law school. Eventually, he practiced law for a large law firm in Orlando and a telecommunications firm in Tampa before heading back to Tokyo. During his career, he has practiced law as a trial lawyer and in-house general counsel in various parts of the U.S., Japan, and the Western Pacific. He has also been Dean of the University of Akron School of Law and, most recently, President of the University of Akron, before returning to the law school faculty full time.
