University of Utah jazz students were at the International Association of Schools of Jazz conference in Klagenfurt Austria last week - they sounded amazing and got to rehearse 3+ hours a day and jam, perform, and learn with students and faculty from around the world!

I’m excited to announce that registration is now open for our second masterclass in our Jazz at Kingsbury Hall series at the U!

We are honored to feature the incredible Christian McBride, a renowned American jazz bassist, composer, and arranger. With appearances on over 300 recordings and eight Grammy Awards to his name, Christian brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our community. Christian McBride and Ursa Major will be performing at Kingsbury Hall on February 22nd, 2025:

A day prior to the performance, Christian will conduct a masterclass for the students in the Music Department at the University of Utah, from 3:30pm-4:30pm on February 21st, 2025. We invite you to join us!

These masterclasses are offered free of charge but require prior registration on a first-come, first-served basis. Capacity is limited to 100 individuals. While they are geared toward high school and collegiate jazz students, we warmly welcome all members of Utah's jazz community to attend.
