The ECE department would like to congratulate Ph.D. student Tina Hayward on her acceptance to the US-Taiwan Advanced Study Institutes (ASIs) for Science, Technology and Manufacture of Future Display Devices and Systems!

Tina currently works as a Research Assistant for ECE professor Rajesh Menon, spending most of her time in the clean room flat lenses for various purposes, including imaging in the long-wave infrared, laser manufacturing, and other extended-depth-of-focus applications. Tina earned her bachelor's degree in electrical engineering here at the University of Utah and is now working toward a Ph.D. in electrical engineering.

"I am extremely excited to go on this trip this summer! I have never been out of the country before, and I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity to not only visit Taiwan, but to learn from and work with professionals while I am there. I hope I can make the most of this unique opportunity to meet and learn from people from around the US and Taiwan who are doing some amazing research in display technologies."

Congratulations, Tina! 👏
