state (1896), the University of Utah began formally educating students in the ways of business. Utah is the Beehive State after all, and Utahns are known being industrious and self-reliant. Originally, business students took classes through the University of Utah’s Economics & Sociology Department. But soon it became clear that the study of business deserved a school all its own. The School of Com

It’s no surprise that nearly one hundred years later, the number of enrolled students has increased more than 25-fold. His research shows that many nonprofit hospital systems direct resources toward administrative growth and expansion rather than increased charity care.

Dr. Cadman's findings are fueling a broader national conversation about healthcare policy and tax-exempt status.

What happens when companies rebrand around the latest tech trend?
According to research and analysis from Eccles School finance professor Mike Cooper, firms that shift to align themselves with emerging technologies (first the internet, later cryptocurrency, and now AI) often see a measurable bump in their stock prices.

That insight is featured in a recent Wall Street Journal article, “AI Mania: The Reruns Have Started,” which explores how today’s AI boom is following a familiar market pattern.

Cooper’s previous research and new analysis (the latter done specifically for WSJ) highlight how simply associating with a popular innovation can influence investor behavior, offering important context as AI continues to reshape markets.
