Have you ever had une expérience onirique—a dreamlike experience? ✨

The French adjective onirique evokes the surreal, fleeting quality of dreams, often associated with imaginative or fantastical imagery. The term originates from the Greek word ὄνειρος (óneiros), meaning “dream,” and is paired with the French suffix -ique, meaning “pertaining to.”

Beyond its literal sense, onirique is used to describe anything that feels unreal, ephemeral, or dream-infused, particularly in literature, art, and film.

To our French speakers and learners: how might you use onirique to describe a moment, place, or artistic work?
