Every spring since 2009, hundreds gather to show appreciation to Utah's inventors and companies positively impacting Utah's economy. Awards are presented to top patentees, companies with the most patents issued, and companies with the most registered trademarks. The Lifetime Achievement Award is given to an individual that has made a significant impact on improving and developing Utah's economy.

Honorees are able to display their patented inventions and products trademarked, with the People’s Choice Award going to the display with the most votes.

Utah Genius was founded to recognize the people and companies who by their work better our lives and drive Utah's economy.

We honor them to say thank you and to encourage them to keep innovating. We include only patents issued and trademarks registered the previous year.

Honorees do not apply. These awards are entirely objective. Honorees who make the list are invited and given a complimentary ticket to attend the banquet.
The cut off this year was quite high.
12 patents for inventors,
14 patents for companies,
11 trademarks for trademark registrants.

Mr. Bradford has also significant experience in the Venture Capital markets. Among other things, Mr. Bradford was responsible for Novell’s 150 Million dollar venture fund and has been an advisor to a number of Venture Capital Funds and Private Equity firms. He was also a senior member of the National Finance Committee for Romney for President. He helped lead a team that wrote and passed the Utah Venture Capital Enhancement Act providing a pool of over $100 Million in capital enabling the State to invest in venture capital funds.
