As a devoted wife, mother, pastor, businesswoman, and published author of 10 books, Roberta’s work reflects decades of service rooted in biblical truth, spiritual formation, and community impact—demonstrating wisdom lived out through ministry, education, and empowerment.

• Co-Pastor, Immanuel Worship Center (Houston, TX) — Serves alongside her husband, Pastor Pigana Washington, shepherding God’s people through teaching, prayer, and pastoral leadership.

• Dean of Education, Called and Accountable Leadership Academy & Christian Academy — Leads faith-centered educational institutions founded in 2012, committed to academic excellence, spiritual growth, and character development grounded in biblical principles.

• Founder & CEO, Called and Accountable & Basic Theology — Oversees certified programs and Associate through Bachelor degree pathways, including Certified Christian Counselor and Crisis Chaplain programs.

Why did I join Beta Rho ETA?
My name is Talisha Story Gowans, I began my walk with Beta Rho in January 2025. I could easily say that I joined the organization because the Founder is my spiritual mother. I could say that I joined the organization because of the passion that I see from our Founder as well as our in my sisters that have crossed before me. Could these be part of my reasonings? Possibly. However, my reason is very simple, yet truthful I desired to be a part of a sisterhood standing in and on the foundation of God! Rooted and grounded with the principles of the word of God. It is about presentation for me, Representing God and RE-presenting God. Beta Rho is an organization that is purposed in embodying the very epitomes of what sisterhood looks and should look like. Beta Rho Eta has added to me that which I did not have, a community of sisters that will love, cover, and enhance me. There was no other organization that I could be associated with. It’s Beta Rho ETA for me!

Why I chose to become a part of Beta Rho Eta Christian Sorority, as a woman already active in ministry and deeply engaged in community service, I was drawn to Beta Rho Eta because it aligns so naturally with the life I’ve been called to live. Rather than changing my path, this sisterhood has enhanced and expanded it.
Beta Rho Eta has provided a space where my passion for serving God and uplifting others is not only welcomed but magnified. Being surrounded by women who are equally committed to ministry and community engagement has been both inspiring and empowering. Each sister brings her own unique background, experiences, and gifts, yet we are united by a shared purpose: to serve God, support one another, and make a meaningful impact in the world around us.
What makes this sorority truly special is the sense of belonging and spiritual unity I’ve found here. It feels good, truly good to be in the company of women who not only understand the call to serve but actively live it out. We encourage one another, pray for one another, and work side by side to be the hands and feet of Christ in our communities.
Beta Rho Eta has not only added to what I was already doing it has multiplied it. I am grateful for the opportunity to grow, to serve, and to walk this journey with such powerful and purpose driven sisterhood.
