We’re excited to invite you to our first Career Readiness Workshop for Study Abroad Alumni on Thursday, November 20th, for an in-person, professional development event designed to help students use their international experiences in advancing your career goals.
 
During this workshop, you will learn how to:
 
- Translate international experiences into career-ready skills.
- Receive guidance on incorporating study abroad experiences effectively into your résumé, cover letter, and LinkedIn profile.
- Practice articulating your international experience through compelling examples that demonstrate professional growth and versatility.
- Network with fellow study abroad alumni, career advisors, and university staff to exchange insights and build connections that support your career journey.
- Participate in structured reflection activities to clarify how your international experiences align with your long-term goals.
 
Whether you’re preparing for your first job, considering graduate school, or seeking your next academic or professional career goal, this event will provide the tools and confidence to help you succeed after your Study Abroad experience.

We are excited to announce the launch of the Global Career Fellows Workshops— a unique opportunity to strengthen your skills, build global competencies, and gain recognition as a UT San Antonio Global Fellow.
 
This workshop series is open to current undergraduate and master’s students (excluding doctoral students) who are either international students or have participated in a study abroad program within the last three years. 

While this is not a job placement program, it’s designed to help you prepare for your career by strengthening key professional skills and building meaningful connections. Tailored for students with global experience, the series focuses on: 

• Enhancing soft skills 
• Building your personal brand 
• Developing a career strategy 
• Expanding your network, both in-person and online

Honors college and Public Health student Ankita Das studied abroad with the UTSA-Led Summer Language and Culture in South Korea Program.

She recalls this incredible experience: “I had the opportunity to study Korean language at Hanyang University and participated in cultural activities and immersed myself in Korean culture. Every moment on this trip was a chance to grow and learn, I am forever grateful for this impact studying abroad has made for me.

I am truly grateful to UT San Antonio and COLFA for making this experience possible, and to everyone at Hanyang University for welcoming us into the university.

Studying abroad has reminded me how valuable it is to step out of your comfort zone and immerse yourself with new perspectives. I look forward to bringing everything I’ve learned on this trip to my future career!”

Real Estate Finance and Development student Andrea Muñoz participated in a Study Abroad Business Immersion, a program that focuses on learning about global business and developing a professional network across borders. For this program, Andrea had the opportunity to embark on a 10-day business immersion to Italy and visit authentic Tuscan businesses.

Andrea reflects on her time abroad: “This experience was unforgettable, as it pushed me out of my comfort zone and offered valuable insights into the region’s unique culture and entrepreneurial spirit. Notably, this was my first time in Europe, and the combination of exploring new places and meeting local business owners made it an enriching journey. Overall, it was a significant experience that broadened my understanding of international business practices and left a lasting impression on me.”

Political Science student Felicity Gill reflects on her incredible experience during the UTSA-Led: The Dresden Experience, Germany program:

“I was immersed in the rich tapestry of German culture, arts, and politics. I also really enjoyed touring the Dresden University of Technology where UTSA students took in person classes and enjoy the campus music festival.

As a senior majoring in political science, I was eager to explore Europe’s intricate political landscape firsthand. During weekends, I ventured beyond Dresden’s borders, soaking up the vibrant atmospheres of Berlin and I also traveled to Prague, Czech Republic. Among all my adventures, the highlight was definitely wandering along the Elbe River to visit the enchanting trio of castles named Albrechtsberg, Lingner, and Eckberg. Each castle held its own unique charm and history. I also fell in love with Dresden’s Neustadt district, a lively hub buzzing with young students and travelers, where the spirit of fun and discovery was palpable at every corner. Overall, it was a rich experience and I was able to gain more knowledge on German culture while making lasting friendships along the way”.
