Back on campus, students will encounter anti-Israel slogans presented as unquestionable facts. Some are built on distorted legal claims, sweeping generalizations and centuries-old antisemitic conspiracies.
Criticism of Israeli policy is legitimate. Blaming all Jews for the actions of extremists, claiming Israel secretly controls America or presenting an unresolved legal allegation as a proven verdict is not.
Ask questions. Define the terms. Acknowledge genuine suffering. Then answer with evidence, courage and compassion.

A thousand years ago, Jewish children were learning Hebrew in ways that look surprisingly familiar.
Fragments preserved in the Cairo Genizah show pupils repeatedly copying the alphabet, practicing vowel markings and decorating their lessons with colorful letters and drawings. Teachers even created rhythmic sentences containing every Hebrew letter, transforming ordinary writing exercises into lessons about discipline, perseverance and the value of knowledge.
These ancient pages are more than childhood homework. They reveal the Jewish people’s enduring devotion to learning, language and passing their identity from one generation to the next.

Academic freedom should protect honest inquiry—not give antisemitism a respectable disguise.
When lectures promote anti-Jewish conspiracy theories, campus organizations target students because of their Jewish identity or connection to Israel, or coursework erases Jewish history, students must recognize what is happening and speak out.

Prosecutors say the older suspect was first contacted by an Iranian handler in June after he looked for work in a Telegram group. He was approached by a person who identified himself as “Daniel.” The assignments allegedly began with seemingly innocuous tasks such as distributing fliers before escalating, and the suspect later recruited the second minor.

In a letter to the department on Monday, the center, which is representing the Louis D. Brandeis Center Coalition to Combat Antisemitism, a separate entity, states that Section 117 of the Higher Education Act of 1965 requires schools to disclose publicly certain gifts and contracts of $250,000 or more in a calendar year.

The department said on July 6 that it would release a report on July 15 that would feature “the names of all foreign sources from prior reporting cycles” but postponed releasing the report four times in the past two months. The current release date is now said to be Sept. 11, according to the Brandeis Center.

Antisemitism on college campuses doesn’t always happen at protests—it can happen inside the classroom, too.

A new Anti-Defamation League report warns that professors and teaching assistants have allegedly injected anti-Israel activism into coursework, offered extra credit for attending anti-Israel events, and singled out Jewish and Israeli students. The ADL found that 27.3% of Jewish students reported observing antisemitic behavior by faculty.

Jewish students deserve to learn without being targeted, stereotyped, or politically pressured because of their identity.

Chaim Galbut, a 6-foot-7 Miami native, will join the Duquesne University Dukes this fall after spending the past year studying Talmud at a Jerusalem yeshiva, aiming to become the first observant Orthodox Jewish man to compete in four years of Division I college basketball.

The City University of New York is launching a new faculty fellowship designed to develop and strengthen Holocaust education across disciplines at three of its campuses.
The CUNY Faculty Fellowship on Holocaust Distortion will bring together six faculty members from Baruch, Hunter and Queens colleges for a year of seminars, monthly meetings and experiential learning, including a study trip to Holocaust sites in Poland and the Czech Republic.

The fellows will develop new courses or revise existing ones to incorporate Holocaust history and examine how the Holocaust is represented in academic and contemporary contexts, according to CUNY. The program will culminate in a 2027 spring summit showcasing the new courses and teaching approaches.

The initiative aims to address what CUNY describes as the growing problem of Holocaust distortion, including the minimizing, exaggeration or misrepresentation of Holocaust terminology, imagery and analogies. CUNY said the fellowship is a first-of-its-kind consortium among the three colleges.
