The College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences proudly celebrates the San Antonio Brass Band for earning 2nd place in the First Section at the prestigious North American Brass Band Association (NABBA) Championships.

Led by Dr. Matthew Mireles, Chair of the Department of Music and Theatre Arts, the ensemble includes St. Mary’s students, faculty, alumni, and professional musicians from across the region. The group competed against top ensembles nationwide, securing 2nd place following performances on April 10–11 in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

This achievement marks back-to-back podium finishes for the band, building on its 3rd place finish in 2025 and reinforcing its growing national reputation.
