YOU TELL THESE FEMALES SHUT UP THEN!
WOMEN CAN'T PREACH SO SHUT UP THEN :1 Corinthians 14: Debunking Misinterpretation of Women's Silence
Did Paul REALLY Tell Women to Be Silent? Read the Greek
People love using 1 Corinthians 14 to tell women,
“Be quiet in church.”
But they’re misreading Paul.
In the original Greek, Paul is quoting a legalistic faction that wanted women silenced.
Then in verse 36 he fires back with a sharp, sarcastic “What? Do you think you own the word of God?”
Early manuscript editors literally moved verses to hide Paul’s pushback and turn his rebuke into a rule.
Meanwhile, at Pentecost, the Holy Spirit was poured out on sons and daughters.
We’ve heard so many stories from women who were silenced, shamed, or blocked from their calling—and it wrecked their faith, their identity, and their trust in the Church.
We’re not doing that anymore.
More to come on the podcast SEEN: The Honest Kingdom Voice and on The Red Seat: Healing the Church One Truth at a Time.
Women can preach. Women can lead. And the Bible, read rightly, agrees.
Stay tuned.
