Today marks the 60th anniversary of the dedication of the Margarite B. Parker Chapel. Its legacy is deeply intertwined with its Chaplain Emeritus, the late Rev. Raymond Judd ’56. When he retired in 1999, a colleague summarized his legacy in a single sentence: He left the Chapel “in a state of grace.”

That legacy lives on in the Judd Center for Spiritual Life and Formation, the blessing of which the Rev. Judd was able to attend earlier this year.

That legacy also continues to lift Tigers up through the Raymond Judd Student Emergency Fund, which helps students facing emergency financial need to cover the cost of certain expenses, such as unexpected medical costs.

You can help unlock a $50,000 gift for the Raymond Judd Student Emergency Fund by making a gift before May 31 at gotu.us/maychallenge.

For generations of Trinity students, Professor Emeritus Robert Freed set the standard for excellence in geosciences, challenging students to think deeper, work harder, and discover more.

Among alumni, Freed is remembered with equal parts admiration and awe. His mineralogy course was legendary, and the famously rare “A” became a badge of honor for those who earned it.

Today, his legacy lives on through the Robert Lowell Freed Scholarship, created by grateful alumni and faculty to support students who embody the same dedication and passion for discovery that defined his classroom.

Since its creation, the scholarship has helped students reduce financial stress, spend more time immersed in research and learning, and continue the tradition of academic excellence that Freed inspired for more than 30 years.
